Marty has been on the San Antonio insurance scene for 30 years with extensive background in sales, agency ownership and management. In 1981 he joined Gene Williams General Insurance Agency which was founded in 1975 by his father. Concurrent with his entry into the business, father Gene Williams was tragically and untimely felled by cancer; leaving the firm to remaining family. All agreed to “regroup”, assess, and decide the fate of the enterprise while putting the needs of agency clients first. Marty often cites, “When we came up for air it was 5 years later.”

He was appointed President of Gene Williams General Insurance Agency 1992 and led the firm to an eminent position for 14 years. He earned the prestigious Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1995 and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of San Antonio that same year. During his 5 tenure on the Board of IIASA, he headed an intense, homegrown media campaign for the association and it’s members. Marty became a regular voice on local radio and appeared regularly on TV news; focusing on insurance needs, solutions and promoting the value of independent agents.

In 2006, he elected to liquidate his interest in the family insurance agency prior to it’s merger with another concern. Shortly afterwards, Marty joined long time friends Bubba Hacker and David Mauer as a contracted Associate at Village Insurance Agency. He comments, “Our shared values, goals and friendship produced a natural connection.” Marty’s focus these days is weighted in the direction of Commercial and Business insurance as it relates to developing new client relationships while continuing to provide superior service and insurance counsel to his established clients.

Marty shares two amazing young sons with wife and local television personality, Vicki Buffolino.
